On the session held on 29/05/2020, the Council of the Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia has adopted a decision on approval of Plan for Transfer of Metering Devices, Metering Switchboards, i.e. Connection Lines, Installation and Equipment in Metering Switchboards and Other Devices in Customers’, i.e. Producers’ Facilities connected to Distribution System for 2020 which was adopted by the Distribution System Operator “EPS Distribucija” d.o.o.
The Energy Law prescribes that all the given devices should be owned by the Distribution System Operator by the end of 2020 at the latest. “EPS Distribucija” d.o.o. will inform the Ministry of Mining and Energy and the Agency on the transfer.
The transfer of metering devices, metering switchboards and connection lines into the ownership of the Distribution System Operator should result in better maintenance, control and replacement of them by more modern equipment in order to increase the accuracy of metering and reduce electricity losses within the distribution system which is in the interest of both final customers and of the Distribution System Operator. In order to comply with their commitments, the distribution system operator has given a review of activities on the transfer of metering points in the future within their plan which also imply sharing timely and precise information of customers on this obligation.
