On the session held on December 1, 2022, the Council of the Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia has adopted a decision on approval of new version of Electricity Market Code which was prepared by the transmission system operator of the Republic of Serbia EMS AD.
The main reason for the adoption of new Market Code is the harmonization with new legal framework as well as the upgrade of the process and correction of detected deficiencies in the operation so far, i.e. optimization of the business operation in line with developments in the electricity market in Serbia, Europe and in the region.
The most important amendments related to the former Code include: inclusion of new market players, optimization of process of balancing responsible party registration, correction f method of calculation of financial risk, correction of the method of setting acceptable deviation of the balancing group, precise formulation of the text related to system, i.e. ancillary services, limitations for the dominant market player bids are amended.
