On the extraordinary session held on March 5, 2019, the Council of the Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia (AERS) has adopted the final Act on Exemption of the New Natural Gas Interconnector by which the exemption is approved to the GASTRANS d.o.o. Novi Sad company from the third party access to the future gas pipeline which will pass through the Republic of Serbia and will be connected to the Bulgarian and Hungarian national transmission systems.

Acting upon an application of GASTRANS d.o.o. submitted to the Agency on February 2, 2018 for the exemption from the obligation to apply regulated prices and for the exemption from the ownership unbundling between natural gas production and supply, in line with the Energy Law (Article 288) which transposed the so-called “Third Package” of the European Union regulations on common rules for the internal energy market, AERS Council has adopted an Act on Exemption of the New Natural Gas Interconnector, taking into account the Opinion of the Energy Community Secretariat which was submitted on February 5, 2019 to the Agency to the greatest possible extent.
